A play of transparency and privacy

A facade that shifts with viewing angle and light.

The Haydon is a fifteen storey, 87 apartment building in East London, where Lucy worked on the resolution of the facade design. The aluminum facade was perforated and mechanically crimped to read as a field of hanging curtains, shifting between transparency and privacy depending on the viewing angle.

Scope of work:

  • Tender documentation

  • Custom design with specialist fabricator

  • Apartment layout coordination
